1. What this site is

smfhub.com explains our sterile male mosquito programs and lets you ask for a quote or book a call. Asking for a quote or booking a call doesn't create a contract. A program starts only when you accept a quote and agreement.

2. Information, not advice

Our articles and pages about mosquitoes, the sterile insect technique and published studies are general information. They aren't medical, public health or legal advice. Results from published studies by public programs and researchers describe the method. They aren't SMF's own results and don't predict what will happen at a particular property. Results from related methods, such as Wolbachia, are labeled that way.

3. What our releases do, and what they don't

• Our releases reduce two species: the Asian tiger mosquito and the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti), the ones that bite in yards by day and at dusk.
• They don't affect night-biting mosquitoes, floodwater mosquitoes or other species.
• Results vary with yard size, weather, rainfall, nearby breeding sites and what happens on neighboring properties. We aim for fewer mosquitoes, not zero, and we don't promise a specific reduction.
• Our programs are for comfort in your yard or property. We don't claim that they prevent any disease, and they aren't a substitute for public health advice, repellent or removing standing water.

4. Quotes and service area

• We serve the whole Dallas-Fort Worth area: any address within 60 miles of Dallas or Fort Worth. If you're just outside it, ask, and we'll confirm by reply.
• We don't publish prices. Every program, for homes, commercial properties, farms, ranches and cities, is quoted for your property.
• A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise, and is based on what you told us and what we can see of the property. If the property turns out to be very different, we'll tell you before anything changes.

5. Plans and billing

• Your quote and agreement set the terms. Your plan, its price, how often you're billed and any commitment are set out in your quote and in the agreement you accept before you start. We don't charge anything that isn't in them, other than any sales tax the law requires.
• What a home program includes: release plates of sterile males delivered to your address, twice a month in the warm months and one plate a month in winter, with release instructions and our satisfaction guarantee.
• Price changes. For an existing plan, we'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies, and you can cancel before it starts. Any price fixed for a set period in your agreement doesn't change during that period.
• Pausing. Traveling or not using the yard for a while? Email us before your next billing date and we'll pause or adjust deliveries where we can.

6. Automatic renewal and how to cancel

Automatic renewal. If your plan renews automatically, we'll tell you before you sign up, remind you before it renews, and you can cancel by email or online. Your quote and agreement say whether and how your plan renews.

How to cancel. You can cancel online or by email, as easily as you signed up:

• use the cancel link in any billing email; or
• email hello@smfhub.com with "Cancel" in the subject line; or
• call (972) 866-4620.

We confirm every cancellation by email. Billing stops from the date you cancel, and no further payments are taken. Once you cancel, we stop sending plates at the end of the period you've paid for, unless we've refunded that period at your request.

7. Your part: release instructions

Home programs only work if the sterile males get released. You agree to:

• open each release plate in your yard when it arrives, following the instructions that come with it, including where in the yard to open it. It takes about a minute. On larger lots, the instructions show where to open each plate;
• give us a correct delivery address and tell us if you'll be away, so we can pause or reroute deliveries;
• not spray after releases start. Insecticide spraying, fogging or misting on your property kills the sterile males too. If you want one last treatment, do it at least one week before your first release. After releases start, no spraying on the property. Emptying standing water and using personal insect repellent are fine and help;
• tell us if a plate arrives damaged or late, so we can replace it.

You're not responsible for spraying you can't control, such as by a city, a district or a neighbor. Tell us if it happens and we'll adjust your plan.

The sterile males don't bite and don't need any special handling beyond the instructions. Keep plates away from children's reach until you release them, and don't open them indoors.

8. Our satisfaction guarantee

We want you to love your program. If you don't, here's exactly what we do.

The details

Who it covers. Every SMF home program, and commercial and farm programs too.

Boosts. If you're not feeling a difference after the first 2 weeks, or if mosquitoes pick up later, email hello@smfhub.com or call (972) 866-4620 and tell us what you're seeing. We'll send a boost of sterile males as needed, at no charge. Boosts don't change your plan or what you pay.

Canceling. You can cancel anytime, on any plan, as described in section 6. There's no cancellation or early-termination fee, whatever your plan.

Your refund. When you cancel, ask us to refund your last month's payment and we will. We refund it to your original payment method within 10 business days of your request. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.

What the refund covers. The guarantee refunds your most recent month's payment, not earlier months. Payments for months before that aren't refunded.

For the program to work. To keep the guarantee fair to everyone, it applies when:

• releases are made as your instructions describe (homeowners open each plate when it arrives);
• no insecticide spraying, fogging or misting is done on the property after releases start (one last treatment at least one week before your first release is fine);
• the property is in our Dallas-Fort Worth service area.

What it doesn't cover. Our releases reduce Asian tiger and yellow fever mosquitoes. Night-biting mosquitoes and floodwater mosquitoes are different species and aren't affected by our releases, so the guarantee doesn't cover them.

9. Commercial, farm and city programs

Programs for businesses, HOAs, farms, ranches, cities and districts are governed by a separate signed agreement. Commercial agreements run for 12 months and renew automatically, and you can cancel anytime under the guarantee. If the signed agreement and these terms disagree, the signed agreement controls. On commercial properties, either our team releases on site or your staff release plates following our instructions, as the release plan says.

10. Using the site

Please don't:

• send false information or someone else's details in our forms;
• send spam, or use the forms for anything other than a real request;
• try to break or get around the site's security, or overload it;
• copy the site's content in bulk, or use automated tools in a way that harms the site.

11. Our content

The site's text, design, the SMF name and logo belong to SMF. You may share links and quote short passages with credit. Third-party names and images, such as photos courtesy of Senecio, belong to their owners and are used with permission. Studies are cited and linked, not reproduced.

12. Links to other sites

We link to studies, the CDC, the EPA and other sources so you can check them yourself. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

13. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but it's provided "as is". We don't promise that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties about the site. This doesn't limit our commitments to customers in section 8 or in a signed agreement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

• SMF isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits or a canceled event, that come from using the site or a program;
• SMF's total liability for any claim about a program is limited to what you paid SMF for that program in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under Texas law that can't be waived.

15. Governing law and disputes

Texas law governs these terms. If we have a disagreement, please contact us first at hello@smfhub.com and we'll try to resolve it within 30 days. If we can't, either of us may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, or in a small claims (justice) court where you live.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change affects your active plan in a meaningful way, such as what you pay or how it renews, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
